Join us Saturday July 18 8:00AM at Barlow Pass for our July volunteer work party.

There is trail work to be done on the lower sections of the trail, and we also have some supplies and tools to carry in to town, if desired. One project we would like to tackle is removing encroaching brush on the Glacier Basin trail.

Note the meetup time is earlier at 8:00 instead of the usual 9:00. You can meet us at 8:00 at the gate if you need let in, or otherwise (if you have a key) let yourself in and meet up with us on the trail anytime throughout the day. End time is flexible – stay as long as you wish.

Bring your own trail and brush tools, plan for the weather, and bring your own refreshments.

Join us Saturday June 20 9:00AM at Barlow Pass for our first 2026 volunteer work party. Blowdowns have all been cleared from the county road/trail, but there is minor trail repairs and brushing still needed. One area of concern may be the bypass trail at the first clayslide, as the slide has encroached on the trail and the trail may need re-routed.

We also have materials for our interpretive site that need hauled into the townsite. A bike with racks or a trailer would be well suited for this task.

It is known the river is crossable at twin bridges either via the log or with a short (and not very deep) wading at the river bed at the approach to the upper bridge.

At least one of us will be at the Barlow Pass gate at 9:00 to meet up with others as needed. You’re welcome to come start early and/or stay however long you prefer. Some members may be meeting at the bulletin board at 8:00 to pack up supplies and hike into town; feel free to meet up when you choose.

Join us February 21 for the 2026 MCPA Winter Social. As usual, we’ll have a potluck dinner 5:30 PM, then some talk about last year’s accomplishments and this years plans, followed by a presentation on the Everett and Monte Cristo Railway by Steve Fox. There will be a free drawing for a new and signed hardback copy of the book “Snohomish County – An Illustrated History”. The event usually warps up by 7:30ish.

We have access to the barn at 5:00; feel free to arrive early and help set up and socialize a bit! For the potluck, drinks, plates and utensils will be provided; bring a main dish, side dish, dessert or snack and serving utensils if needed.

All are welcome! Current MCPA members can renew their membership in person. New members welcome too!
